Installation Instructions

In the instructions below, 3.0.0.20120116 in camba-linux-3.0.0.20120116.zipcamba-linux-3.0.0.20120116 and camba-2.1.0.YYYYMMDD refers to the version number of CamBA (3.0.0) and the date it is created (YYYYMMDD) and can be different from the version of CamBA you had downloaded. Hence, please adapt the version number as appropriate. The version number for your copy of CamBA is shown as part of the filename of the zip file (camba-linux-.zip).

Before you start, check that your computer satisfy the CamBA’s requirements.

Fully Graphical Approach (Recommended)

    1. Download CamBA by clicking the “Download Now” image on CamBA’s Homepage. Save the download file to your Desktop.
    2. You should find that a new item camba-linux-3.0.0.20120116.zip created on your desktop
    3. Right click this item, and from the pop-up menu, select “Extract to here” or something similar
    4. A new directory, camba-3.0.0 should be created on your destkop
    5. Double click to go into this directory
    6. Double click camba
    7. A splash screen should appear. It will take some time for CamBA to initialize itself and present the main window.

Command Line-based Approach (Good for diagnostic)

  1. Download CamBA by clicking the “Download Now” image on CamBA’s Homepage. Save the download file to your destination directory
  2. Open a command line window (Terminal/Console/Xterm or the likes), change directory to where you download CamBA, i.e.
     cd /path/to/camba/download/directory
  3. Unzip camba-linux-3.0.0.20120116.zip:
     unzip camba-linux-3.0.0.20120116.zip
  4. change directory into camba-3.0.0, i.e. the directory created by the unzip operation:
     cd camba-3.0.0
  5. Run CamBA,
     ./camba
  6. A splash screen should appear. It will take some time for CamBA to initialize itself and present the main window.
