Dr Hisham Ziauddeen and Prof Paul Fletcher win a Wellcome Trust Development Award grant to develop a comedy for radio

Congratulations to Dr Hisham Ziauddeen and Prof Paul Fletcher who have been given a Wellcome Trust Development Award grant to develop a comedy play for radio about food addiction and the translation of science into policy. The idea for this project stemmed from their critical evaluation of the food addiction field and Dr Ziauddeen’s transformation of this work into standup-comedy performances for the Cambridge Bright Club. You can watch one of his sets here.

The researchers will collaborate on the project with award winning BBC radio producer Sally Avens and the award winning playwright Sarah Daniels. They hope to have the show ready for the next BBC Radio commissioning round in 2014.
